The Forest Retreat Lodge is a circa 1890's church turned country lodge by its current owner. The Homochitto National Forest is your undeveloped neighbor in this picturesque spot. Remaining are many original architectural features from the original church that make the setting delightful. Past the blueberries is a long sand bar opposite a soaring bluff, a breathtaking sight. The old church's steeple covers a well drawing water from a deep aquifer. Some of the Adirondack furniture may remain. Two year old glass fronted wood burning stove keeps the lodge warm in the winter. New AC installed in 2015 cools the lodge in the summer. The lodge has enjoyed a steady rental income should the purchaser wish it to remain a part time rental property, when not enjoyed for its seclusion and beauty.
